Cucumber Finger Sandwiches

Serves: Makes about two and a half dozen

This is a great afternoon tea party finger sandwich.
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ¼ cup snipped green onion stems or chives
  • 30 cookie cutter heart shapes from white bread
  • butter for spreading
  1. Cut cucumbers in slices
  2. Drain on paper towels for at least a half an hour
  3. Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic salt, chopped onion until well blended
  4. Spread butter on heart shapes
  5. Top with another buttered heart shape
  6. Refrigerate covered with wax paper and a damp cloth
  7. Before serving remove wax paper and put a dollop of cream cheese with fresh chopped green onions
